Abergwyngregyn

Meander along the Afon Goch, up to the spectacular Aber Falls.

We will congregate at edge of Abergwyngregyn village, just off the A55 between Llanfairfechan and Bangor.

Meet 10 a.m.

Take the Chester Road/A540 to Two Mills.  Turn right onto Welsh Road/A550 and A494 towards Queensferry.  Stay on Wales Expressway/A55 towards Conwy.  Stay on A55 and pass Llanfairfechan.  After approx. 3 miles, turn off the A55 signposted Abergwyngregyn.  Turn left immediately (Alma’s Café is in front of you), and carry-on about 100 yards to free parking places on left.  Don’t go into the village.

We will walk up the valley to the Aber Falls, through woodland and meadows. Typical birds in the area include Redstarts, Dipper and Grey Wagtail.

There are good paths and a return journey of approx. 4 miles.  Weather permitting, we will take lunch with us.

For those wanting to shorten the walking distance, there is a car park further up the valley – we can sort this out when we meet.  I believe it costs £5 in pound coins to park there.

Toilets available in the upper car park.
