Bird songs and calls, their function and how we can use them
Whilst we all focus on what birds look like, they often tell us who they are and where they are – even when we can’t see them. In the Summer, it is likely that we will hear far more birds than we will see, so knowing their sounds can be very useful.
This talk explores the biology and function of bird sounds and the ways in which we can familiarise ourselves with the songs and calls, using examples of both common and less common species.
