A local walk based around Burton Village.
The last time we had Burton in our Programme, we had to call it off due to exceptionally wet weather! While the gardens could do with some rain now, hopefully we won’t get a deluge beforehand.
Meet at RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands Reserve car park by 10am, ready for a prompt departure.
Puddington Lane, Burton, Cheshire, CH64 5SF
We will walk up through the wood into the village and then explore Burton Wood itself and the surrounding farmland. The plan will be to return to the cars for lunch. Distance will be around 2.5 – 3 miles depending on the exact route we take. Paths are mostly good, (hopefully not muddy!) with occasional slight, short slopes in the woods especially.
Those that only wish to join in for just half a day can do so. Then we have the option to visit the Reserve in the afternoon. Please bring your RSPB Membership cards if you are staying on.
Full facilities are at RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands – toilets, café, Visitor Reception Centre.
Any questions about the trip, please contact Hugh (07527 828 571).
In the event of bad weather, please check with Hugh in advance that the trip is still on.
In the event of any last-minute changes to the meeting, we will send out messages to all members via email and WhatsApp.
