Thousands of waders and sea birds to admire over the incoming tide.
This meeting will focus on the incoming tide on the North Wirral coast, as we stroll along the promenade from Dove Point.
Meet on the prom at the eastern end of Meols Parade, by the junction with Bennets Lane at 10am.
We can walk eastward towards Leasowe and in the opposite direction to Hoylake, partly depending on conditions on the day. We will look for various wader species, Shelduck, Scoter and maybe a Peregrine.
Easy, flat paths, but bring suitable clothing as shelter is limited.
As this is a local walk, people can stay as long (or short) as they wish.
Toilets at the Bowling Green, Meols Parade Gardens (charge); or at Hoylake Community Centre/Popsy’s Cafe.
Any questions about the meeting, please contact the leader for the day, Hugh (07527 828 571).
In the event of bad weather, please check with Hugh in advance that the trip is still on.
In the event of any last-minute changes to the meeting, we will send out a message to all members via email and WhatsApp.
