Eastham Country Park

A couple of hours in mid-winter seeking out birds in a lovely local woodland site. Eastham woods has some very old and magnificent beech trees along with other deciduous varieties and there are wonderful views across the river to Seaforth in one direction and Runcorn up-river.  The tide will be full and we can scan for ducks and other water birds.

There are toilet facilities and also a very good café at the location (also two pubs!)

If members wish to extend their day out into the afternoon we will not be far from Rivacre Valley, Dibbinsdale and Brotherton Park (Kingfishers) or a call could be made to Port Sunlight River Park to check on development.

Directions. Get to the A41 (New Chester Road) either via Bromborough (J4 M53) or Eastham (J5 M53).  The turn off for Eastham village is well sign posted (Eastham Village Road).  At The Hooton Arms in the village, take Ferry Road (again well signposted.  At the bottom of Ferry Rd are two pubs (The Ferry and The Tap), drive past and we will meet in the car park which is up on the left, at 10.00 am.
