A local walk around around the Marine Lake and Beach.
Our final field meeting of 2025 will be a leisurely walk along the front at West Kirby.
So if you want an excuse to get away from buying Christmas presents and baking mince pies, come and join us.
Meet at the southern end of South Parade near WK Sailing Club at 10am.

Park on South Parade, or if no spaces, around the corner on Banks Road or Riverside.
N.B. South Parade beside the Lake is one-way, entry from Dee Lane.
(There were plenty of parking spaces at the south end when I did a reccie last Thursday. Spaces can be limited though, so consider taking a spot if you see one as you drive down South Parade, and walk further to meet up).
The weather may govern our activities on the day. We can walk around the lake following the sea wall, scanning the lake and the extensive sand flats as we go.
At the north end of the lake, we may walk a little way along the beach.
As we return, the tide will be coming in and waders should come onto the lake pontoons to roost.
Solid paths around the Lake; sandy, possibly wet on the beach.
Option to have lunch in Coronation Gardens where it will be a little more sheltered.
Toilets are available in Morrisons or in cafes e.g. Taskeys opposite the Lake. (I believe the public toilets at the bottom of Dee Lane are temporarily closed).
As the day will be very short by this date, we will not be finishing late.
