Wirral’s Dee Estuary

BECAUSE OF PREDICTED BAD WEATHER ON SATURDAY THIS EVENT HAS NOW REGRETTABLY BEEN CANCELLED.

At our last Club indoor meeting, the illustrated talk was given by Graham Jones of RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands.  It seems appropriate that our next field meeting which is described in the programme merely as Dee Estuary should cover the area subject of his talk and which is so busy with wintering visitors.  Along with the commoner wildfowl and waders we have rarer wonderful birds such as Marsh and Hen Harriers, Short-eared Owls, Great Egret and even a Bittern.

Saturday’s programme is in two parts.  Members can do either or both.  The weather will play a big part in people’s choices.
