High on the moors and in the sheltered valleys above Llangollen. Migrants, grouse and raptors in beautiful surroundings.
This is an opportunity for a walk on the wild side on the moor at World’s End and a more sheltered stroll down in the valley. We hope to have a mix of raptors, Red and Black Grouse and other inhabitants of a fairly hostile environment together with migrants and passage migrants taking advantage of the shelter provided by the valley. We are not actively looking to see Black Grouse lekking. (See RSPB LLandegla)
The nature of this outing is very dependent on the weather. The ground is rough and steep in places and can be muddy and slippery. A certain degree of fitness is recommended. Waterproofs and boots will be required. There are no facilities in the area.
Parking is very restricted to the side of the road since the closure of the small car park. Car sharing is to be recommended.

Directions
The simplest route to Coedpoeth is via M53 to A483 (Wrexham road) exiting at J4 onto A 525 leading to Coedpoeth. Passing through Coedpoeth take B5426 to Minera. A mile further on look for the turn off to the right, signed New Brighton and World’s End. 3 ½ miles of narrow, pot-holed mountain road follow (go slowly). Where the road starts to lose height and trees start to appear, look to park at the side of the road by a cattle grid.
